Moy Report 26th July @ 8.30am

Height at Ballylahan bridge 0.40m

There will be a lot of cloud around today with scattered showers.  Top temperature 18c in a westerly wind.  Possibility of some widespread rain coming in during the evening.  Yesterdays showers have added a couple of inches of freshwater to the river and this could stir up a few of the residents in the pools?

There seems to be a general theme running through fishing at the moment on the Moy.  Anglers are seeing plenty of fish showing in the various fisheries but they are proving  very difficult to tempt no matter what method is used.  There are always exceptions of course, and I heard of one beginner catching three on bubble and fly in Foxford recently!

  1. Robert G showed that any of the ‘settled’ fish can be taken with a careful b’n’f approach as long as its not too bright. Small bubble light line and no cranking.
