Moy Report 21st May @ 8.30am

Height at Ballylahan bridge 1.2m

Heavy downpours yesterday evening have resulted in another rise in levels this morning. Worm and spinner are the only viable options this morning with the possibility of some fly-fishing late today in the upper stretches.  More heavy showers are forecast for today, so the river is set to remain high for the coming days.

The river was in good order yesterday but the fishing was very quiet.  Only a handful of fish were reported among a good number of anglers.  The humid thundery weather is probably not helping but if fish are in the pools they’re certainly not showing themselves in any numbers.

River Moy Salmon

Declan Scanlon (Swinford) caught this nice 10lb salmon recently from East Mayo Anglers Association. Well done on your first of the season.
