Moy Report 26th May @ 8.30am

Height at Ballylahan bridge 0.63m

Its a nice dull morning here in the west and the river is in good order.  There was a little rain overnight in the mountains that may hold levels up.  Some showery weather forecast for early in the week, with more general rain towards the end of the week.  Prospects look good for the week, with tides building.

There were much better reports yesterday with probably more than twenty fish caught.  The settled river conditions have played no small part in this upturn.  The fly seemed to be the most productive method, and the stretches above Ballylahan produced the bulk of the catches.  The best fish I heard of was around 12lb, with the smallest a grilse of 4lb.

River Moy East Mayo Anglers.

Congratulations to Brendan Wilson on catching his first salmon of the season yesterday. The 10.5lb fish was caught on a conehead fly fished on a sink tip.
